Amos 5:14
Seek good, not evil,

Amos 5:15
Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you,
just as you say he is.
Hate evil, love good;

Perhaps the Lord God Almighty will have mercy

• “The Israelites, with misguided confidence, claimed that the Lord was with them, despite their rebelliousness, simply because he had made a covenant with them.” (p. 1446)

Today, we have misguided confidence in people and institutions like the government. We elect officials, then turn our Liberty over to them for a promise of security and prosperity. It all sounds well and good, only, our government is not meant to be our mommy and daddy. We are to be responsible for our own well being in a free land based on morals which is the definition of Liberty.

Since government is taking on the role of providing us with what they deem necessary, e.g., education, health care, unemployment benefits, social security benefits in the name of Social Justice, the prosperity has come to a halt and security weakened.

God is Creator and our Father. Our founding fathers understood this with their hearts and souls. A most intelligent group of men and the women in their lives were guided by the morals taught in the Bible.

This is what is lacking in the United States today, the moral guidance that belief in God portrays.

God is a subject for manipulation and extinction from our daily lives. There are many atheists who make the removal of God in public their passion. They lobby to have any symbol of God removed from public property. To be fair, not all atheists feel this way, just those who feel the need to be politically active, politically correct, and want their own way imposed.

The politically active atheists have a hard time removing Moses and the Ten Commandments from many state and federal buildings. God has been taken out of schools and text books because of this atheist mentality and the infuriating capitulation of liberal judges. This issue needs close attention. America’s major problems stem from the dilution of the basic beliefs and morals that come from the Bible. It is essential that we return to teaching our children these values. This would make most parents very happy.

Eventually, such tyranny would control our children and program them as servant citizens seen in Socialism, Fascism or Communism. This way, power gets what it deems necessary out of the masses to feed tyrants in official government positions..

I pray it does not come to this. I pray we make the amends necessary through the Grace of God and return to abiding by our Constitution as intended, for a moral people who elect moral leaders.

Otherwise, God would no longer be the One we turn to in times of need, and those times would be constant and hard for most. The government would be the provider for every need, whether they met the task or not. But when men play god and oppress their fellow man, especially those who tasted Liberty, the hunger for the Spirit, the greatest Force that rules the Universe, will arise in the once-complacent population. God’s Will be done.

The Constitution is not a living document meant to be interpreted by each regime change in the manner it sees fit. The prosperity and security of the greatest nation the world has ever seen will resume because it remains one nation under God or it will fall because it is Godless.

So by identifying what makes my life significant and meaningful, my deep, abiding belief in God, I see why America prospers as well as it does. Our founding fathers bless us with documents, the Declaration of Independence and our US Constitution, based on God's law. Understanding man as a sinner, the Constitution restricts one or a group from achieving too much power and governing in a corrupt manner that benefits themselves more than those they represent. Today, the greatest danger America faces is the removal of God from our daily lives. Politically active Atheist groups and politically correct liberal judges allow God to be removed from public spaces including schools. Children and our country, our success and greatness depend on our belief in God and our public display of that reverence or America may follow the path of past civilizations that no longer exist.
